One tube is sufficient to treat one child’s course of acute diarrhoea. Enterosgel is an oral intestinal gel for the symptomatic treatment of IBS-D acute diarrhoea. It is an over the counter treatment that can be recommended by your pharmacist without a prescription. The gel works by binding bacterial toxins, viruses and other harmful substances in the gut that can cause diarrhoea. Enterosgel along with these toxins and viruses are then completely expelled from the body in the stool. By helping to eliminate the cause of diarrhoea, the product effectively reduces stool frequency and the duration of diarrhoea.

Warnings and cautions

• Do not use Enterosgel if:
• you are currently taking modified-release orally administrated medications
• you have intestinal atony (severe constipation due to bowel obstruction) or intestinal blockage
• you have intolerance based on prior use of Enterosgel
• It is advisable to consult with your healthcare professional if you are unwell during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Keep out of the reach of children
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Enterosgel should be administered orally between meals

How to use

1. Mix with glass of water and take orally.
2. 1-3 years:
1. 1 teaspoon (5g) x 3 times per day.
2. It is advisable to consult your GP before use of Enterosgel kids in this age group.
3. 3-6 years:
1. 1 teaspoon (5g) x 3 times per day.
4. 7-14 years:
1. 2 teaspoons (10g) x 3 times per day.
5. The recommended treatment duration is 3-5 days.
6. Enterosgel is a taste free gel that is easily tolerated by children.
7. To avoid dehydration in children, treatment of diarrhoea should be accompanied by plenty of fluids, which may include an oral rehydration solution.
